(UPDATE ) — The Colby FFA Labor Auction has been postponed due to weather. The new date has not yet been announced. 

COLBY, Kan — National FFA Week is a busy time for FFA students. They plan events ranging from community breakfasts to education days to fundraisers.

The Colby FFA Chapter is no exception. During National FFA Week, two Colby FFA members stopped by the Kansas Farm and Ranch Radio flagship station KXXX to speak about their events during National FFA Week.

Paige Castigliano spoke with Farm Director Sara Miles about their community breakfast being held on Wednesday during National FFA Week. Castigliano explained that this was a great way for FFA members to get to know their community.

Colby FFA Chapter President, Sophia Austin, invites the community to their annual Labor Auction. This fundraiser allows members of the community to purchase hours of labor from FFA members. FFA members could do a variety of activities for the community members such as yard work, washing windows, or farm labor. The auction and dinner will be held on Friday of National FFA Week starting at 6:30 p.m. (CST).

Austin explains that the money that is raised will go to help with expenses associated with getting a new shop. Colby FFA.
